UDOT's Bicycle Commuter Guide will help prepare you for the fun and rewarding art of bicycle commuting and recreational cycling. You will find information about bicycle commuting, correct clothing to wear when cycling, repairing your bike, bicycle fitting and riding safely. The last page of the guide also has a summary of the bicycle-related Utah laws.

The Utah Department of Health lists bicycle safety laws, bicycle safety tips, motorist safety tips and it's share the road program that ran from October 2004-September 2006.

The Utah Department of Health provides bicycle safety links and resources. Resources include educational videos, materials, proper helmet use and turning signals, tips for safely driving in traffic and a motorist & cyclist guide for sharing the road available in English and Spanish.

The League of American Bicyclists gives tips on how cyclists and motorists can safely share the road.

The UDOT Bike Map Gallery is a series of maps aimed at giving cyclists all of the information they need to make informed decisions to help them plan their rides. The gallery includes bike routes, daily traffic counts, shoulder widths, trail information, and even offers an option that allows users to take a high-resolution trip down the road for a preview of infrastructure and general conditions.

The Salt Lake City Police Department offers information about cycling and driving safety, including a downloadable Road Guide for cyclists and motorists, a printable card of the most common laws regarding bicycles in SLC, commuter guidelines and links to bicycle route maps for the Salt Lake area.
